Over the Summer, we put out a call looking for a new CEO (Chief Escape Officer) to join our team, with the victor gaining access to all Escape Live venues and experiences, complete with complimentary travel!
We are delighted to introduce Maddie as the triumphant CEO, in the company’s very first official Chief Escape Officer role.
“I couldn’t believe that I had been selected for the role and I am very grateful for the opportunity! I have always enjoyed escape rooms, and once even made a weekend of puzzles and escape room challenges for my family, so being Chief Escape Officer is a dream job for me” says Maddie, 13 years old, who stood out for her code-encrypted application, exceptional enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for the world of escape rooms.
During their visit to our Birmingham venue, Maddie and her family went on to break a new record for our Dr Watson’s Office Escape Room with 27 minutes and 49 seconds remaining, even after smashing out 3 other games of Jack the Ripper, Time Machine, and The Lab; so it seems fair to say Maddie’s knack for escape rooms runs in her blood!
The competition for 11-16 year olds, garnered widespread attention and received an overwhelming response from young adventurers. After a tough evaluation of a multitude of entries, the potential CEOs were narrowed down to just 5 candidates, who had to take on Escape Live’s online game of Rogue Agent, where you are tasked with tracking down an unknown MI5 agent, who has been stealing art and sculptures from across the globe and it is down to you to uncover their identity, collate evidence and locate their whereabouts, all via the Government’s secret online portal to solve the case! The game was then followed by an interview with the Escape Live Hiring Board, where the candidates were asked a series of questions about all things Escape Room.
