So, you’ve decided you want to do an escape room, whether it’s to have some fun or show off your skills to your friends or family, but how do you choose WHICH one to do? Here are some factors you should consider when choosing your escape room.
Assemble your Escape Room team.
Your team is vital to the success of getting out of the escape room. Every member will have an important role to play within the room itself and everyone should be helpful, so choose your team wisely. The more people you have with you, the more likely it is you will find clues quicker, solve puzzles and break the escape room record.
Who are you going with?
Whether you are going with your friends or family, it will make two VERY different experiences. Escape rooms with friends often allow more freedom while escape rooms with family can mean a more focused event (depending on who you go with).
Both are fun choices, since people of all ages can enjoy escape rooms and bring different strengths with them.
Choosing your escape room.
Now you’ve got your team, you just have to pick the room! But there are many to choose from. In every location there are at least 2 escape rooms to choose. An easy answer to this is to figure out everyone’s film and TV tastes. Many of our escape rooms are inspired by films and TV Shows.
Double Cross and The Raid – The Official Peaky Blinders Games
Now this is an easy one, both of the games in Liverpool and Birmingham are the only Peaky Blinders escape games in the World. Featuring locations, storylines and references to the hit BBC TV show, you’ll feel like a real Peaky Blinder here.
Room 13
Birmingham’s famous horror game! Can you rescue Amy? Room 13 is inspired by modern horror films and TV Shows such as Saw and Hostel. This is a dark escape room that is filled with suspense, surprises and a creepy immersion. You’ll feel as if you’re trapped inside a real hospital.
Chalice of Champions
Stratford-Upon-Avons magic escape room. Chalice of Champions is inspired by modern fantasy such as Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. Set inside its own original universe, where a revered wizard has been trapped by an ancient curse, you’ll step inside an Escape Room filled with dragons, magic and strange deep sea creatures. Expect unique puzzles and challenges too, which fans of the Crystal Maze and Jungle Run will love!
Shakespeare’s Script
This is another obvious one, the room inspiration is literally in the title! Shakespeare’s Script is an escape room based on the life of William Shakespeare, who lived a few minutes from where this Escape Room is found.. This realistic recreation of Shakespeare’s home will give you an insight into Shakespeare’s life, but don’t stop to admire it for too long. Every inch of this room is hiding secrets and clues related to the bard, and you only have 60 minutes to solve them.
Casino Heist
One for the more skilled of the group, escape within 60 minutes AND escape with all the cash you can! This room is inspired by classic heist films we all know and love, such as Oceans 11 and The Italian Job. Most people escape, but not everyone grabs the whole $500,000. You’ll need to assemble a real team of criminal masterminds for this one, only the best of the best can get a 100% completion here.
Dr Watson’s Office
Does the name sound familiar? It should do. Dr Watson was a character in Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous Sherlock Holmes Novels. And now, he is the star of Escape Live’s own detective inspired Escape Room; Dr Watson’s Office. Spinning some of the classic detective tropes, you’ll really need to investigate carefully and bring your most clever friends to beat this room. Some puzzles are obvious, some are cunningly crafted. Sherlock fans need to try this, but not all of them will beat it.Horrible Histories
The latest escape room to open at Escape Live Liverpool. Inspired by the world renowned children’s books and introduced by the author Terry Deary himself! This is an experience that will go down in history (for all the horrible reasons). WIth three different time periods that will be familiar to any Horrible Histories fan, the Rotten Romans, the Terrible Tudors and the Vile Victorians, you’ll be finding actual artefacts from those time periods, and learn about history the fun way!
Jack the Ripper
The name is known across the country. The Mysterious Jack the Ripper tormented the streets of White Chapel in London for 2 years (maybe even longer) but now Liverpool is his home in this terrifying horror escape room based on the infamous killer.
If you’ve seen or read From Hell, then you’ll know to expect a terrifying experience right in the heart of Liverpool.
