Escape rooms are not just for the adrenaline junkies and the master detectives, they are built for everyone. Escape rooms are not only a chance for you to build friendships or bond with family, they are a chance for you to show off your skillset and even improve some of your skills! Immersing yourself and your team into an escape room will be an experience that you’ll never forget. Here are just FIVE skills that escape rooms can help you to improve. Will you become a master?
Exercises your Brain
Put those brain training games aside and really put your brain to work! While escape rooms are not your usual day-to-day activity, they are a great way to exercise your brain. Having to solve puzzles and find clues makes your brain work to its fullest potential. Since you’ll be playing non-stop to find every clue and solve each puzzle, escape rooms are the perfect brain training exercise.Â
Competitive Drive
What is the quickest way to escape? Put your competitive drive into action with escape rooms. Each room has a time limit of 60 minutes, you have to work together as a team to escape in time. Large groups can have the chance to compete against each other, seeing who can escape the room the fastest. We’re all about healthy competition in our Escape Rooms. Remember, if you’re quick enough, you may even beat our escape room record!
Concentration
How good are your problem solving skills? Want to test them out? An obvious skill needed in an escape room is good problem solving skills, but what about concentration? Are you able to concentrate on the task at hand without getting distracted by everything else in the room? In our horror themed rooms such as Room 13 or Jack the Ripper, concentration is key to solving the puzzles and ignoring the things that go bump in the dark…
Escape rooms are designed to distract you and trick you. Will you figure out what the solution is, and what is a red herring?
Creative Thinking
Before you even think about it, we don’t mean creating new ways to escape the room! Every escape room requires that creative skill. Not every puzzle has a straightforward answer. Being able to escape any of our rooms means you need to look out for patterns and find creative ways to solve problems.
Escape rooms are the definition of thinking outside the box. If you can’t find the obvious answer, think of a creative answer instead. It might be what you’re looking for.
Awareness
You need to be aware of everything around you, and not just your teammates. All of our escape rooms require you to be on your toes, always looking out for new clues or hidden gems. Look through every drawer, underneath every chair and make sure you are aware of what you have around you.
Importantly, keep an eye on the timer. Escape rooms only last 60 minutes, so if you’re wasting time on one puzzle when you could be solving another, you might soon find you’ve run out of time. Be sure to check if your Games Master has left any important messages or clues anywhere too, you’ll be surprised what you miss.
